When we pulled up, we saw that the house was painted! I was wrong about the color- I thought it was greyish when I looked at the sample. It's really a beige tone. My husband remembered it accurately. It will look great with our dark stones.
I stood on the neighbor's porch to take this picture. The house color looks pretty true here. The front door and the porch post are supposed to get painted forest green.
There are stacks of drywall laying around. Makes me nervous, as we still need to get ahold of an electrician before they put in our ceiling. We need to have three junction boxes installed over the island to hang our pendant lights.
Monster fire ants! There was a huge mound of these guys on the lot before they cleared it to lay the foundation. They have returned! This ant hole is in the front yard. Let's hope they find a new location before our moving van arrives.
We went on a walk around the neighborhood before we left. My older daughter found a toad. If you didn't know, one of a toad's defense mechanisms is to pee on you. She's well aware of that, which is why she's holding him so far out. The baby is watching the streams of pee pour on the sidewalk. As the toad was being put back in the yard, he let out two more massive streams...
